Dear Gerard, I am an acquisitions editor looking for trade nonfiction on anything liberal or controversial: civil rights, human rights, immigration, war, peace, women's issues, gay rights, politics, the environment, disability rights, Africa (as well as African Americans), Central and South America (and U.S. Latinos), the Middle East, drug culture, etc. In addition, I'm seeking nonpolitical books (pop culture, humor, true crime, whatever comes along) aimed toward African American, Latino, Native American, Asian American, Arab American, or other audiences or written by authors from underrepresented groups. No fiction or poetry. Memoirs ONLY if the manuscript is by a famous (or famously notorious) person or presents a story that has not been told before. If you would like, you can add me to your list. I'm fine w/e-mail queries, but I don't take phone queries or follow-up calls ever. Thanks! Best, Sue
Hey, Sue, you guys did a Neal Cassady book. You'd like Ginny Good, especially the fifteen hour audio book. I've got an clip somewhere of Cassady talking fast and slow. Thanks. G.
